HAMPTON MAID MOTEL

Stott Architecture has designed 8 new motel units in 6 small buildings, which were completed in 2017. These buildings will sit on a shallow monolithic foundation, fully insulated and designed to include an air-based radiant floor. This floor/foundation system also helps reduce the impact on the site by requiring significantly less excavation and disturbance. The walls will be made of Insulated Concrete Forms, providing excellent thermal and sound insulation. The extremely efficient HVAC equipment consists of an air-based radiant floor for heat and a tiny heat pump to provide both cooling and back-up heat, integrated into a tiny Energy Recovery Ventilator located in a small space above the bathroom ceiling.
